1. Provides oversight and management of all IT/Technology Coding academy training sites, including development of a comprehensive business plan for the academy to ensure self-sustaining operations after grant funding is fully expended.
2. Produces schedule of classes to reflect regional IT/Technology demands in programming, digital marketing, coding, networking, advanced manufacturing and other technology related topics.
3. Develops relationships with business partners to provide internship sites, instructional support, sponsorship options, and advisory committee participation. Maintains extensive industry contacts.
4. Hires instructors to teach short term training programs; coordinates with credit instructors on enhancing credit/noncredit scheduling opportunities; may teach some courses as needed.
5. Recruits students and industry partners and coordinates outreach efforts.
6. Conducts routine orientation sessions across the region to highlight careers in IT/computer science/technology; arranges for periodic tech talks.
7. Serves as a resource in the development of training solutions to employment challenges faced by local job market.
8. Works closely with college career services and CareerSource Suncoast to assist trainees with job placement.
9. Monitors grant progress as it relates to enrollments and completions, and prepares regular reports and management updates.
10. Evaluates the effectiveness of programs and performance of instructors to ensure customer satisfaction, program quality, grant compliance and outcomes achievement.
11. Coordinates training sessions with Workforce Solutions to provide employer driven training options onsite, on campus, and online.
12. Collaborates with academic departments to ensure delivery of integrated courses when appropriate, and opportunities for stackable certificates/certifications/credentials.
13. Recruits, interviews, and makes hiring recommendations for instructors for noncredit classes; teaches classes as needed and as approved by supervisor.
14. Submits monthly reports to internal team on enrollments, completions, upcoming events and classes.
15. Raises awareness of programs and services by collaborating with Communications & Marketing to maintain on-going marketing efforts across various media.
16. Works with economic development stakeholders in creating networking opportunities for IT/Technology professionals in addition to training classes, tech talks, industry tours and other outreach efforts that will assist in filling classes scheduled through the academy as well as credit programs.
17. Works evenings and weekends as required representing college at business and community functions, events, and expos.
18. Collaborates with area EDCs, Chambers of Commerce, CareerSource Suncoast and other workforce partners to promote the Coding/IT Academy and other aspects of the grant.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelorâs degree from an accredited four-year college or university and three or more years related experience and/or training in various aspects of IT such as coding, programming, software development, social media and/or business development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
