Edgewood is looking for an experienced individual who has a passion for culinary excellence to be our Dining Services Director. This position is responsible for providing a nutritious and pleasant dining experience to our residents, staff, families, volunteers and visitors through the preparation and distribution of quality food.
Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise day-to-day activities of all dining & kitchen staff.
- Use company menu management software to ensure established standards are met.
- Ensure quality meal prep and delivery to exceed resident satisfaction.
- Assist in planning and carrying out food preparation and delivery for life enrichment, open house, and other events
- Manage procurement and inventory of all necessary food and supplies for Dining Services; staying within forecasted budget for food, supplies, and staffing.
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring of dining services staff to maintain appropriate staffing levels to support effective dining operations.
- Lead by example; while developing team members through training, mentoring, coaching and enforcing company policies and procedures
- Perform regular QA to ensure clean, safe, and sanitary kitchens, storage locations, and dining rooms are maintained.
- Follow proper food handling controls and documentation to comply with all regulations and surveys.
- Engage successfully & compassionately with staff, residents, family, visitors and state agencies regarding the dining experience.

Job Requirements:
A successful candidate possesses the following:
- Certified Dining Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) preferred
- 2-3 years of proven management experience as a Director or Chef in a food service operation
- Dining experience in long term care setting or a health care setting a plus.
- Must possess a current Serv Safe certification
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and a passion for delivering a fantastic dining experience.
- Willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
