Our medical practice is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of assistant manager. In this important role, the successful applicant will act as an information resource and ambassador to patients, the general public, Practitioners, and staff.
We are seeking passionate, results-driven candidates who pose previous experience in managing a medical practice. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of the unique needs of specialist practice, including billing, and claims management. This individual will regularly assist with the development and implementation of practice policies and procedures, including human resources (hiring, scheduling, education and evaluation), OSHA, HIPAA, Blood Borne Pathogens, Billing & Collections, and Medical Practice Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for making sure that the administrative aspects of the office run smoothly, managing staff efficiently, and handling patient concerns. A strong assistant manager can alleviate the administrative burden on practitioners. The assistant manager oversees all aspects of the medical office with the exception of direct patient care, with the majority of the work occurring behind the scenes.
· Interview, hire and train new staff in accordance with HR guidelines
· Tracklicensure requirements for providers & assist with the onboarding of new providers to include oversight of the credentialing
· Ensure office is opened and closed daily, as per established schedules, and following opening & closing procedures
· Conduct regular team meetings and maintain a positive, motivated work environment for the team
· Manage patient scheduling; evaluate daily staffing schedules to ensure optimal operation of the practice and patient experience
· Interact with patients and gain patient feedback about the practice
· Oversee the front office, perform daily close out operations and ensure that front office standards are being followed by staff
· Conduct monthly inventory counts, maintain medical equipment, & order medical &office supplies
· Analyze and process patient accounts, accounts receivable/collections
· Review, approve and if necessary correct claims daily to ensure the timely filling
· Regularly participate in the strategic marketing efforts of the practice
· Provide monthly performance reports to practice owner and participate in goal setting discussion to drive practice success and ensure the practice is adhering to medical standards of care, offering a unique and positive patient experience& staff needs are being met
· Other duties may apply to ensure practice manager is working to decrease patient wait-time & enhance patient care
REQUIREMENTS
· 3+years experience in medical practice management
· BachelorsDegree is Healthcare Management or Business Administration a plus
· Working knowledge of medical terminology
· Medical practice billing experience an asset
· Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes an asset
· Proficiency with EMR systems, medical record documentation & software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
· Strong organizational and task management skills
· Excellent written & oral communication skills
· Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills to develop creative solutions to solve various administrative problems that can arise in healthcare.
· Good interpersonal skills in dealing with medical patients
