The Tool Room Manager oversees and coordinates all phases of the die and prototype operation. Knowledge of die design, tool and die prototype development, and quality control are needed.
Responsibilities
1. Directs and controls workloads to ensure smooth operation and flow of product to related departments.
2. Organizes and prioritizes workflow in tool shop.
3. Provides work instructions to tool makers and all necessary training
4. Responsible for hiring, termination, scheduling, issuing disciplinary action, and completing performance appraisals of personnel
Requirements and Skills
1. Minimum 5 yearsâ supervisory experience.
2. Journeyman status as a tool and die maker or five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
