Sites Manager, Wairau Valley

This role oversees activities of our sites in the Wairau Valley, including coordinating the day to day site-based work programs. You’ll actively lead the assessment of blocks with regards to required inputs; liaise with the Technical Support and Machine Teams. You’ll be responsible for vineyard re-developments in collaboration with the Vineyard Operations Manager and Technical Services.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the development of team members through coaching and performance reviews.
• In the period leading up to vintage, actively inspect blocks and make recommendations to the Vineyard Operations Manager and Technical Services Manager, noting any potential yield and/or quality concerns.
• Ensuring the vineyard appearance and presentation is that of New Zealand’s premier wine company.
• Coordinating the planning, resourcing and timing of the management unit operations in collaboration with the Vineyard Operations Manager so as to optimise both yield and quality goals and objectives.
• Collating data and prepare reports as requested by the Vineyard Operations Manager.
• Supporting the Technical Services Manager on Business Intelligence initiatives including strategic and operational requirements.

Ideally, you’ll be GrowSafe certified; you’ll have extensive experience and understanding of viticultural practices and have strong leadership skills.
