The Poly Foam Manager manages the production and fabrication of poly foam and/or fiber used in the manufacture of upholstered furniture in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
- Managers day-to-day operations of the department.
- Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish efficiencies and timely production.
- Interviews and recommends applicants for hire and prepares performance evaluations and makes recommendations for promotions, merit increases and disciplinary actions when needed.
- Monitors and measures performance for accuracy, quality and storage of material and transfer of products to production floor.
- Prepares documents and other related paperwork.
- Orders, receives and maintains equipment, materials and tools.
- Promotes company safety standards and requirements.
- Maintain inventories of equipment, materials and products
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years supervisory experience in poly foam
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Basic Computer Skills
- Previous experience working with lean manufacturing principles.
Preferred
- Some College
Working conditions
This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filling cabinets and fax machine. It may also be required to use warehouse equipment like conveyer belts, shipping equipment, forklifts, ect.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; lift heavy boxes of furniture; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Job in location in a plant without a climate controlled environment.
