General Description/Position Summary Mentor Experience Manager (MEM) plays a key role in SPEAK Mentorship mentoring programs. The MEM reports to the Executive Director (ED), and is crucial to the operational success of SPEAK Mentorship. The MEM manages the entire mentor process, including: recruitment; on-boarding; training; matching; mentor engagement; mentor partnerships coordination; and more. The person in this position must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. SPEAK Mentorship works on building a network of support for girls and women of immigrant and first-generation American backgrounds, and the MEM ensures we have the qualified mentors to support these girls and to build our network.
For the 2019 – 2020 academic year, SPEAK Mentorship will be working with students in the New York area. Our mentor network consists of mentors from across the nation. The MEM supervises the Mentor Relations team which consists of a Mentor Relations Associate (MRA) and a Mentor Relations intern. The team will coordinate with the Mentoring Program Administrator (MPA) in order to help with the mentor matching process for each mentoring round. The MEM primarily develops the relationship between mentors and SPEAK, ensuring the mentors are included and engaged within the SPEAK network, supporting them where necessary, and providing them with an outstanding experience throughout. The MEM, therefore, must work cross-functionally with other members of SPEAK to ensure mentor attendance for other SPEAK Mentorship activities such as Speaker Series events and conferences.
