The School of Medicine IT Project Management Office coordinates the execution of the largest and most critical projects for the School of Medicine IT department; tracks and reports on the progress of a portfolio of IT Projects to the School of Medicine CIO; and ensures that the School of Medicine IT projects are delivered in scope, within budget, and in keeping with the priorities set by the School of Medicine Leadership. The IT Project Manager is the primary individual responsible for successfully delivering IT project objectives. These objectives are accomplished using proven project management methods to overcome constraints such as cost, scope, time while ensuring quality. Day-to-day activities involve project intake, resourcing, writing project charters, defining project scope, identifying potential risks, resolving critical problems, and writing project status reports. These activities ensure that the School of Medicine IT office meets business requirements through the optimal application of IT solutions and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential qualifications: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, with some project management experience. Must have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills as well as analytical technical ability (relationship-building/problem-solving/research skills, etc.). Self-motivated, eager to contribute and learn, and brings a strong sense of initiative; has an exceptional work ethic and is energized by team success. Preferred Qualifications: -Project team experience with consulting firm or consulting internship. -Completed a management training program or new associate bootcamp at a consulting firm or has similar experience -Experience with waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies -Experience with Software Development Life Cycle -PMP or similar project management certificationMaster’s and 1-2 years’ experience, or Bachelors and 2-4 years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
