Vertex Consulting Services, Inc. in Schaumburg, IL is seeking IT Business Project Managers to serve as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects; plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage; monitor progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Individuals will perform the following job duties and responsibilities:
Coordinating project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
Developing or updating project plans for information technology projects including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing;
monitoring or tracking project milestones and deliverables.
Conferring with project personnel to identify and resolve problems; developing and managing Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) of information technology projects.
Submitting project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Coordinating project activities; establishing and executing a project communication plan.
NOTE: this position involves process planning, project work and overall project coordination.
It does not involve supervision of any personnel nor any participation in staffing decisions (i.e., reviews, compensation, hiring or termination).
Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any related IT major, plus at least two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s).
Employer will accept 3- or 4- year Bachelorâs degree. Employer will accept a foreign degree.

Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of the project.
