Job Description
Job Title: Executive Assistant
Reports to: President/CEO
Nature of Position: Full-time; Salary
POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Executive Assistant provides organization-wide leadership, strategy, operations and management. The Executive Assistant works with the President/CEO to continually refine and implement the strategic growth of the organization and expand and position the organization as a leader in providing membership services, non-dues revenue programming and fiscal responsibility. The Executive Assistant interacts regularly with the Executive Board of Directors and is a member of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerceâs senior management team. The Executive Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Chamber to ensure the successful implementation of the annual Program of Work developed by the Board of Directors. Areas of oversight include but are not limited to Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Event Planning, Program Management, IT, Technology, and daily operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of annual plans of work and budgets to provide cohesive and compelling programs and initiatives for the departments
- Carry out strategic direction for the organization as determined by the President/CEO
- Oversees the communications of the Chamber to the membership and general public
- Establish and promote performance standards for the Chamber
- Secure and oversee the systems of technology and information databases
- Develop and approve policy and procedures for the organization
- Oversee the job performance of chamber staff ongoing
- Assist the President & CEO in agenda preparation for Board Meetings
- Serve as the liaison and secretary to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors
- Oversee programs of Chamber Committees: Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Government Affairs, Military Affairs and One Macon!
- Responsible for organizing and coordinating numerous Chamber functions for committee meetings, seminars and events
- Review, execute and oversee implementation of contracts with the Chamber
- Performs other related duties and special projects at the request of the Chamber President and Chamber Board of Directors.
Skills:
- Ability to establish aggressive goals with staff.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to train, guide and motivate staff to achieve objectives.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines in a collaborative working environment.
- Ability to efficiently complete established goals and objectives
- Direct management experience essential.
- Follow the guidelines of the policies and procedures of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce employee manual.
- Follow the guidelines of the policies and procedures of membership set forth by the President/CEO.
