Job Summary
The Director of Outlets will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and staff for the UVA Inn at Darden Conference and Event Center Food and Beverage Outlets (Abbott Center Dining Room, Café 67, and Sloney’s Pub). Works with other department leadership and successfully executes outlet operations and promotions. Manage and lead a team of manager, lead and frontline associates. Responsible for managing client relations, along with ensuring that the food and service offered to the customers is of superior quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operation of the Abbott Center Dining Room, Cafe 67 and Sloney’s Pub Outlets in accordance with the approved budget
  • Identify new ways to improve the business in each outlet and under the director of the Director of Food and Beverage implement approved changes to products, presentations and services
  • Responsible for the presentation and atmospher of the outlets through room set up standards, cleanliness and other guest appearance standards
  • Work with the Director of Food & Beverage in the design, implementation and maintenance of standards of food, beverage and service quality within the outlets
  • Act as liaison between Outlets and other operating departments within the Food & Beverage team
  • Ensure all food offered at outlets to the client, customers and employees is of superior quality
  • Responsible for inventory, ordering/purchasing, food costs and controls, training, sanitation, and personnel managment to include scheduling and labor cost controls, counseling, training, and coaching and development


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree required
  • At least 3 years progressive hospitality food & beverage experience in a luxury hotel or restaurant setting is desired
  • Ability to manage profit and loss management and client relations
  • Communicate clearly, professionally and efficiently with associates, customers, and clients
  • Knowledge of local and state liquor laws
  • Prior Management experience with purchasing knowledge
  • Exceptional computer skills required, including knowledge of MS Office products and familiarity with POS systems
