This individual is a key contact for the College of Allied Health Sciences and its alumni, students, and leadership. The Director of Alumni Affairs is responsible for strategic planning and designing programs and projects to engage alumni of the College of Allied Health Sciences. The Director will work in partnership with the leadership of the college to develop active and engaged alumni. The Director will work in partnership with leadership at the College and as a liaison to the ECU Alumni Association. Serving as an ambassador for the College, the Director of Alumni Affairs will provide professional expertise and work closely with college alumni and current students, as well as in collaboration with colleagues in other administrative capacities including the CAHS Dean and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation, Communications and Marketing, and Student Affairs. The Director will play a key role in engaging college alumni, building strong professional relationships, and in promoting the priorities of our students, faculty, and college leadership. Specific Duties: Developing a strategic plan for CAHS Alumni programmatic growth and development. Working in partnership with the CAHS Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in developing an active and engaged advisory board with alumni representation. Directing, developing, and leading strategic activities and events locally, regionally and nationally Developing a strong CAHS communications and marketing presence through print and electronic methods, including a CAHS newsletter, website and social media platforms. Working closely with the Office of Communications and Marketing to develop story ideas and content for publications, website, and social media. Working collaboratively with the ECU Office of Alumni Relations to develop effective and mutually beneficial means of approaching the alumni population. Partnering with the Medical & Health Sciences Foundation to assist in cultivating CAHS alumni for further engagement and updating databases with alumni contact information. Partnering to assist the Advisors on special events including ECU Excels as well as the CAHS Faculty Council including Convocation and Graduation Recognition. Developing and managing a CAHS alumni budget.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master?s degree from an from an accredited academic institution in Business, Accounting, Economics, Community Relations, Communications, or a related field. Or, a Bachelor?s degree from an accredited academic institution and a minimum of 5 years of professional administrative experience in alumni affairs or a related discipline. Experience building and leading a comprehensive alumni program including: event and program development, recruiting and working with volunteer boards, budget management and staff supervision, and partnering with Brody School of Medicine leadership, alumni, students, and faculty.
