D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager for their Sales/Construction Department. The right candidate will promote communication and information flow between the field construction and sales staff in a designated area and the division. Responsible for assisting with all construction field and sales related activities, which include training, motivating the staff and handling buyer issues in the designated area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Assist the Project Manager and Area Sales Manager in the duties/processes listed below:
    • Manage, train and motivate sales agents and construction staff on a daily basis
    • Enforce company policies
    • Help recruit future sales representatives and construction staff
    • Assist with all field operations, plan ordering and permitting if needed
    • Develop and maintain trade base
    • Interface with all municipal governing bodies, public utilities and industry associations
    • Review vendor surveys each month before they are sent out
    • Visit job sites periodically to spot check quality and policy enforcement
    • Review survey cards weekly for construction and customer service
    • Attend meetings with subcontractors to discuss problems as they arise
    • Oversee the field operation, production times and insure quality control so that the homes are ready for homeowner orientations and occupancy
    • Review vendor surveys each month before they are sent out
    • Visit job sites periodically to spot check quality and policy enforcement
    • Review survey cards weekly for construction and customer service
    • Attend meetings with subcontractors to discuss problems as they arise
    • Set build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build times
    • Meet or beat set sales and closing goals
    • Work with marketing coordinator/manager on advertising
    • Work with agents on marketing, grand openings, and new phases
    • Manage backlog and loan status updates with sales agents
    • Competitive analysis on product, features, and neighborhood amenities

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages 4 or more employees in the construction and sales department within a designated area. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager and Area Sales Manager with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Qualifications


Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
