How You’ll Make a Difference:
Responsible for developing and implementing the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program which includes management of all medical devices (therapeutic and diagnostic) services, replacement planning and procurement of medical devices, and centralized asset management.
Provides overall leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of Healthcare Technology Management program. Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of staff. Holds management staff accountable for achieving plans and performance targets. Develops staff to ensure continued professional growth and to provide the competencies the company needs to support its growth and long-term success.
Develops, reviews, and monitors financial and performance outcomes to assure attainment of organizational objectives established by corporate leadership and the Board of Directors. Maintains an effective budgeting and capital planning discipline in conjunction with operational management to ensure planned revenues, expenses, and/or profit goals are met.
Directs the development and integration of new and innovative operations and/or services by providing leadership that maximizes management staff contributions and assures timely decision-making reflective of the mission, vision, and values of the system.
Participates in maintaining an effective internal control environment to ensure that assets are safeguarded, policies and operating procedures are followed, necessary controls are effective and efficient, proper compliance with existing laws and regulations achieved, and operations comply with the legal and regulatory parameters in which it operates.
Develops, maintains, and executes a system strategic plan for the replacement of diagnostic and therapeutic medical services. Defines qualitative and quantitative metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the equipment procurement and replacement program. Develops and maintains a strategic capital replacement plan. Consults with senior leadership and service line leadership in prioritizing the replacement strategy. In collaboration with service line leaders creates, maintains and monitors an equipment standardization roadmap. Maximizes the utilization of all medical equipment.
Provides expert guidance on healthcare technology. Participates in safety event investigations. Advises safety leaders on effective corrective and preventive actions that will best prevent recurrence of safety events. Active member of the new technology selection committee. Assess new and emerging technology, advising service line leaders and seignior leadership on when and if it should be considered for adoption. Establishes and maintains a means of identifying, monitoring and resolving issues related to clinical technologies that present a risk to care delivery.

Degrees
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business, or
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Health Care Administration or related field.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 15 years of experience in HTM or equivalent technical discipline.
Required Management Experience
Includes 10 years of management experience in healthcare technology management in a healthcare system setting or large multi-operational complex corporate environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Frequent local travel to Advocate sites of care, generally several times each month. Travel outside of state for conferencesFlexible hours to meet the needs of the system and site.Ability to make professional presentations before executive level audiences.
