As Vice President of Research, your role will be to bring strategic thinking to your day-to-day client work, as well as supporting the long-term growth of our team by building successful relationships with your fellow team members, colleagues and clients.
The Vice President will bring solid secondary research experience to apply his/her expertise in method neutral and tool agnostic fashion, working with and learning from primary research practitioners, data scientists and digital analysts to bring rigorous, method neutral, insightful and actionable solutions to our clients.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP BUILDING:
In business, it all starts with relationships. You will:

Create, grow, and nurture relationships with Edelman teams and external clients to generate new opportunities and build incremental business

Fluently speak the languages of communications, marketing, business, and research – tailoring those communications to audiences at all levels of expertise
-
Establish a reputation as a go-to research expert, both within the Edelman network and directly with clients
RESEARCH CONSULTANCY:
Data doesn’t mean anything on its own – it needs to be collected properly and communicated effectively. You will:

Ask the right questions, identify and understand business objectives, and scope research that has the most impact
-
Provide strategic counsel to clients through all stages of the research process
-
Identify insights, create narratives, and effectively communicate research results to drive strategy and enable clients to accomplish their business objectives
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
It’s not all strategizing – we need someone who can execute. You will:
-
Manage complex research from end-to-end, including coordinating execution staff and overseeing creation of effective research reports, with a focus on managing measurement and social listening projects for Fortune 500 clients on a global scale

Act as a secondary research expert for the team to help scoping, design and delivery of best in class projects leveraging media and social media listening and monitoring, desk research such as landscape analysis, white space mapping, competitive analysis, coverage reporting and impact measurement

Lead operational and financial performance of account teams, set timelines and ensure they are met and quickly and appropriately address client requests and incidental events

Mentor and manage both direct and indirect reports to ensure that projects are completed – and employee expertise is being developed – effectively
QUALIFICATIONS
You have 10+ years of experience in research and analytics, public and/or corporate affairs, insights creation, strategy development, or consultation. The role requires for you to be fluent in secondary methodologies:

Write advanced analysis grid and complex taxonomies

Build media analysis sample, etc.

Masters several listening tools & other data sources
-
Be able to discuss choices with the client, and to defend them regarding the client’s business, brand or com challenges, but also methodological rigor and feasibility
You also have demonstrated experience in applying your expertise in various types of client engagements, including:

Media analysis
-
Coverage reporting
-
Communication performance measurement
-
Landscape analysis and white space mapping
-
Influencer identification and engagement strategy
-
Trend analysis
-
Risk mitigation and Crisis monitoring
-
Corporate reputation and executive positioning Intelligence
-
Brand positioning
Additionally, you have demonstrated experience in:

Relationship building, business development, and client management;
-
Effective synthesis and communication of research insights;
-
Fluency in the language of marketing, public affairs, branding, communications, and general business strategy;
-
Project management skills, including time and financial oversight;
-
Managing and mentoring direct and indirect reports.
-
Experience of primary or digital analytics research is an advantage, but a desire to learn these methodologies is a must have
