Who We Want

The Vice President, Business Development- Northeast will have in-depth understanding, proven experience both leading and selling, strong current advisor relationships in the independent and hybrid communities and be knowledgeable of key competitors in the marketplace.

The Vice President, Business Development- Northeast will be responsible for developing new business within their territory through personal production leveraging regional events, network events, the Carson Group Partners (CGP) network and both in person and over the phone via sales calls. The VP, Business Development will be responsible for and held accountable to activity and sales targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

What To Expect

  • Identify, build relationships with and add Partners in defined territory.
  • Execute on sales opportunities and leverage CGP resources to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Implement the company’s sales process to establish a culture of consultative selling to customer’s decision-makers at all levels.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large accounts.
  • Pursue identified prospects, participating actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities.
  • Participate in weekly sales team meeting and present current status of sales plan. Collaborate with CGP team to ensure successful sales, on-boarding and post transition success to Partners.
  • Utilize a high level focus on team and collaboration skills.
  • Position and differentiate CGP by educating advisors on CGP’s commitment to value added strategic partnership, exceptional service and transparency.
  • Responsible for marketing strategies and services to prospects, referrals, existing relationships and integrating to CGP.
  • Identify large Partner opportunities.
  • Provide analysis of prospects current business and identify solutions available through CGP.
  • Build relationships with lead advisors, associate wealth advisors and operations staff while integrating offices to CGP.
  • Become educated in practices of Carson Group Coaching (CGC) and “Tested In the Trenches,” and “The Sustainable Edge.”
  • Present at seminars and training sessions.
  • Cultivate Strong Relationships with Centers of Influence including other recruiters, vendor partners, and CGC Coaches.
  • Attend industry events, conferences and other events.
  • Participate in daily morning advisor meetings, training, and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the defined territory.
  • Position will travel nationally as needed

What You Need

  • Must have demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage sales pipeline and existing relationships.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry.
  • Must be able to work independently and remotely.
  • Proven ability to present to large and small groups effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must be open to high level of travel and weekend work.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience as successful External Wholesaler, Internal Wholesaler or combination of both, or equivalent in the financial services industry required.
  • FINRA series 65 licensed. CFP®, CFA or CIMA designated preferred.
  • Clean U-4 and U-5 history.
