Your Opportunity
Stantec is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Junior to Mid-Level Level Project Manager for immediate employment in our Bellevue, Washington office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of environmental consulting experience including a mix of field work and project management. This position will support project managers in the Pacific Northwest on assessment and remediation projects in various stages of completion across the Western United States. They will be customer service driven and will have excellent written and verbal communications skills. They will need to be versatile and adaptable to accommodate changing priorities and project needs. Work will be conducted under the supervision of a senior project manager.
Your Key Responsibilities
- This position will be approximately 80% field work and 20% office work. The office is in Bellevue, Washington and may require occasional visits to other offices.
- The field work will be performed in Washington with occasional requirements for overnight travel.
- Performing task management for sites undergoing assessment.
- Responsible for coordinating with subcontractors (such as analytical laboratories, private locators, and drillers) while performing office assignments.
- Field work will consist of Phase II ESA field work (ground water sampling, drilling), and site remediation.
- Preparing project deliverables including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, quarterly progress reports, work plans, sampling, and analysis plans, in whole or in part, depending on the size and complexity of the document.
- Participate in proposal preparation (work scope, task-level budgeting, cost estimates), may perform calculations, gather or review information, or prepare standard sections of proposals.
- Developing tables and figures using analytical data and topographic / site maps.
- GIS experience is a plus.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Performing Phase II ESAs, including fieldwork and reporting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently solve problems encountered.
- Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, good work ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship.
- Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, combined with the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
- OSHA 40-hour training preferred with subsequent annual refreshers.
- Prior to employment with Stantec a successful passing of a physical and drug/alcohol screen will be required.
Education and Experience
- A BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related Earth Sciences with at least 2 years of experience.
- Preferred Washington State Licensed Geologist or Engineer with the ability to the complete the licensing requirements.
- 2 years of solid field experience (soil borings, well installations, multi-media sampling).
Physical Demands
- Ability to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use hands to operate field equipment.
- Ability to wear a respirator as required.
Work at remote sites around construction equipment, drilling rigs and environmental contamination.
May be subject to periods of extreme heat and cold and other environmental conditions such as wind, rain, and humidity.
