The Creative Team Project Manager manages all projects of a digital project production including writing, filming, and editing to ensure delivery of professional video and photographic digital assets. Youâll be responsible for managing tight deadlines for content, video sales letters (VSLs), etc.
Leading a video production team
- Responsible for the management of video production projects
- Requires knowledge of a variety of video production operations including: shot narrative and composition, camera settings, audio, lighting/sound requirements, editing, and similar technical issues.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment is available and operable at studio
- Ability to bring a team together to lead to results in a timely manner
- Ability to negotiate the range of usage /licensing rights
- Inspire and collaborate with team members and business-area partners at all levels to produce high-quality, on-brand content, encouraging the use of creative briefs to vet and develop concepts in keeping with the editorial planning process.
- Assure all deliverables are produced to specs of the creative briefs and on schedule.
- Supervise projects from beginning to end, including idea conception and development, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, equipment sourcing, pre-production, video shoots, audio session, post-production, final delivery, and archiving of assets. Ability to delegate projects to team members effectively.
- Schedule, manage and maintain the budget for freelance production help as needed. Select and hire additional crew and talent; direct and coach, make sure all location needs are met.
- Keep video equipment maintained and organized.
- Maintain the studio schedule for all production events, coordinate with other team members, and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the in-house video studio and remote location productions.
- Manage our growing video and audio archives.
- Balance speed and quality, with a focus on tangible results.
- Oversee projects for a team of 4 video creatives. Provide regular feedback and support.
- Help define project scopes, estimates and writing proposals/SOWs, along with technical specifications. This includes working with the account team in the creation of project specifications and time plans.
- Work with the interactive development team for all software projects that contain any type of video component needed from the video production team.
- Keep Partners informed on exceptions and issues associated with assigned video projects.
- Anticipate the needs of various departments and serve as the liaison to manage deadlines.
- Create and implement project schedules and budgets
- Identify potential project risks, schedule changes, roadblocks, etc. in advance, communicate implications to the team and make recommendations for solutions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience required, including 5-7 years as a project manager (ideally as a producer or video studio manager with 3-5 years in digital content creation preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of video studio production, videography, audio, lighting, editing, storage management, and scheduling.
- Experience working with scheduling, budgeting, and PM software tools.
- Great knowledge of post-production and understanding of technical terms and processes.
- PC Skills: Solid word processing skills required. Proficiency in Mac and PC workflows, Word, Excel, and budgeting required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Proven record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Extremely organized and self-sufficient.
- Basics of graphic design, illustration, or video/audio/photo editing, including software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, and Acrobat.
