Job Description:

  • Lead and successfully execute all aspects of major radio programs.
  • Engage with Customers through negotiation, delivery, installation, and close out. Provide regular progress updates, identifying risk in advance and addressing issues as they arise. Ensure successful delivery of products and services on time, within budget and within the scope of the contract.
  • Direct the responsibilities and activities of the program implementation team, which includes program management, systems engineering, field installation, subcontract management and financial support functions.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements through all phases of the program from inception to completion, including contract negotiations, planning, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and system acceptance.
  • Provide strategic direction, set priorities and resolve day-to-day issues to deliver to schedule and budget.
  • Develop innovative solutions to resolve difficult program challenges. Communicate with Product Managers to ensure contracted products are delivered as specified, and help define new product requirements for additional opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage all subcontractor deliverables while working with the subcontract managers.
  • Identify and secure additional staff necessary to support customer mission, program schedule, and financial objectives. Identify, train, evaluate, motivate, and develop program team members.
  • Manage and maintain metrics and related processes for the program team.
  • Instill process discipline and a culture of accountability focused on customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Review project financial reports and present to senior management at regular intervals.
  • Provide leadership to other program managers within the utility team.
  • Partner with Sales on new proposals and opportunities for expansion of existing accounts.
  • Travel domestically to customer locations to support the programs. Travel estimated at 30%.


Qualifications:

  • BS/BA (Bachelors) degree. Technical degree is preferred, and an advanced degree (MS/MA/MBA) is a plus 9 years of project management experience within the telecommunications industry.
  • 8-10 years of project management experience within the telecommunications industry or Land Mobile Radio experience


Preferred Additional Skills
:

  • Extensive experience with telecommunications facility construction and integration, including radio site construction, data center requirements, radio system integration, and IP networks.
  • PMP certification is strongly desired.
  • Understanding of communications systems.
  • Knowledge of contracts and experience in contract negotiations of multi-million dollar projects.
  • Extensive customer interaction and ability to strategically work with sales team.
  • Cross-functional communications and detailed knowledge of all business functions that support programs.
