The Department of Pediatrics at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC)/ North Carolina Children?s Hospital is seeking an individual for a fixed term faculty position in the Division of Critical Care Medicine. We expect this individual to assume the role of Pediatric Cardiac ICU Director and play a substantial role as a liaison between the PICU, Pediatric Cardiology, and Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. The North Carolina Children?s Hospital is part of a busy quaternary care medical center with a 20 bed multidisciplinary PICU that admits over 1200 patients per year and supports an active pediatric cardiothoracic surgery program as well as pediatric ECMO, burn, trauma, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation programs. The Critical Care Medicine division maintains a fully-accredited pediatric critical care medicine fellowship program UNC offers ready access to collaborators in other clinical and basic science departments, global and public health, public policy and other expertise across campus. UNC is a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) funded institution that offers support for clinical and translational researchers at all levels. This support includes seed funding, regulatory assistance, data management, drug/device development and grant preparation among other things.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Critical Care with previous success working as a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist faculty member in an academic environment. This Pediatric Intensivist will be committed to patient care and education. A demonstrated commitment to quality improvement would match well with current divisional activities.
