Job Description
This position report to and work under the direction of the Director of Network Deployment within the Unified Communications team. This position will be responsible for supporting network and security device deployments, site readiness and related activities within New York City Health and Hospitals as well as to support the goals and objectives of the Unified Communications team.
Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for UC network and network security equipment deployment and service quality control in order to ensure effective delivery.
- Plan and schedule equipment, switches, circuit, security, network and UC devices peripheral deliveries and installations.
- Communicating project timelines and priorities to team members and following through to make sure project timelines are met in order to drive team efficiencies and responsiveness.
- Participate in weekly project and deployment meetings, risks escalation for remediation actions and or project reprioritization.
- Manage network asset inventory, disposition, audit and compliance standards across all facilities for IDF/MDF and storage compliance standard for naming, cooling, power, access and other activities so as not to violate safety code and/or audit failures.
- Track, plan and execute disconnection of circuits and keep up-to-date record for self, management and for audit reviews.
- Responsible for conducting site surveys, gathering customer requirements, placing circuit orders and engagement with vendors throughout the deployment process.
- Working with network and security engineers to create and maintain Visio network design diagrams.
- Providing recommendations to enhance and improve service deliveries.
- De-conflicting project schedules and change requests.
- Coordinating with UC team directors to plan changes, determine Change Request risks and plan activities to mitigate them.
- Planning, scheduling and controlling the progression of authorized change actions from test to live environments.
- Verifying successful change implementation with Change Requests, document lesson learned and work with team directors and Sr. Director to correct deficiencies permanently.
- Working with UC service line directors and customers to document RFP/RFQ work scope requirements, review vendor responses to ensure that it meet the job scope requirements that are being requested.
- Working with the Director and Assistant Director, Network Deployment to coordinating the closure of RFPs/RFQs and Change Requests with UC service line directors.
- Ensuring coordinated execution of Vendor RFPs/RFQs scope of work across the Enterprise with proper planning, documentation, testing, tasks and implementation plan of actions.
- Sit at project requirement meetings to gain understanding of the work scope for Unified Communications teams, document and communicate coming Unified Communications project impact and tasks required for the project.
- Under the direction of the Director work with vendors to develop quotes and process requisitions and budget estimates.
- Ensuring UC team follow established performance metrics guidelines at project review meetings, policies and procedures for the team’s success.
- Planning, scheduling and controlling the progression of authorized change actions from test to live environments.
- Making sure that staff adheres to UC team and NYCHHC policies, processes, procedures, regulatory standards, compliance and internal controls at all times.
- Supports escalations from local sites through proper communication, managing expectations, partnership with Desktop Engineering, test teams, Site Directors, UC Senior leadership, hospital OFD (Office of Facilities Development), staff and EITS service lines.
- Promptly responding to information requests, enquiries and service request from IT service lines, UC site directors and other service lines for update, status and project progression.
- Working with the Director and Assistant Director to Organize and maintain all UC teams’ contract record, including up-to-date vendor list, contracts, all licenses, permits, qualifications, insurance and approvals of whatever nature that are legally required to perform the information technology staff augmentation services.
- Other related duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related fields; and,
2. Five years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of administration, office management, methods analysis, systems analysis and documentation, forms designs and control, two of which shall have been in data processing and management information systems; and,
3. General knowledge of computer and communication capabilities, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and information retrieval techniques; or,
4. Satisfactory combination of equivalent experience and education.
Department Preferences
Preference will be given to those with:
- Strong facilities management, network and CISCO background. Knowledge of circuit, network verbiage and circuit ordering methods and vendors.
- Must be willing to travel to different sites within New York City.
- Working knowledge of project management and deployment management experience, overseeing the direction and implementation of new solutions for end-clients.
- Highly technical experience with facilities management, server, network, security, application deployments and virtualization technologies.
- Sharp, self-motivated, well-organized, project-minded person who has a history of delivering results and is great as part of a team Passion for technology, engineering network solutions. Able to thrive in a very large, fast-paced Unified Communications.
- An effective communicator.
