The Grove at the Lake is looking for a Memory Care Director. The Memory Care Director is responsible for the day to day operations of our Memory Care Unit. The Memory Care Director will be part of a dynamic Social Service Team.
Essential Functions:
Conducts interviews, orientation, and ongoing training of Memory Care Team employees in accordance with employee training policy and regulatory guidelines.
Educates staff on all aspects of their role to include interactions with resident, family, and other staff members and the daily oversight of Memory Unit.
Plans, coordinates, and evaluates residents for appropriate placement on the memory care unit
Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, the nursing department, medical professionals, therapy department and activities department. The Memory Care Director must be able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Provides education, training, and hands on support to staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
Prefered Qualifications:
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Certified Dementia Practitioner, or other related Certifications.
Three to five years of experience working with individuals with Dementia including leading programs, handling complex behavioral issues, and educating staff and families on Alzheimer’s or Dementia related topics.
