Head of Quality Assurance Community Blood Center

The idea candidate will perform the following essential duties:

• Reports directly to CEO and communicates quality activities to him.
• Coordinates the design, collection, and monitoring of quality measures/metrics for department.
• Head of departmental quality committees.
• Manages the blood center quality plan, which consists of policy and process documents that direct quality functions of all blood center production operations.
• Coordinates QA sectional preparation for all regulatory reviews.
• Facilitate internal assessments and audits, to assess the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives.
• Implements new versions of SOPs in each area of blood bank.
• Participates in occurrence management. Reviews and summarizes/refers periodic quality reports.
• Coordinates with the safety officer on issues related to quality of services provided by blood center.
• Participates in blood center laboratory proficiency programs. Ensures appropriate scope, periodicity, and compliance with departmental and extra-mural regulatory requirements.
• Acts as an informational sciences resource to QA department. Designs, collects, formats, and interprets blood center statistics as required by regulatory agencies, using various information systems as sources of data to compile monthly reports, blood center performance measures, and blood center quality assurance reports, among others.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
