General Description of the Position:
The person in this position will oversee the Residential Services Program inclusive of the participants, staff, facilities and all related information. This position may also include the oversight of the Day Services of identified residents. Ensure compliance with all regulations/standards/policies established by relevant regulatory bodies and Central Connecticut Arc Board of Directors. This person will be current regarding trends and information as related to providing services for persons with disabilities with the goal to maximize the potential of each individual.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, supervise, provide support and direction to Managers in their supervision of their staff, evaluate and recommend appropriate action regarding their performance in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors, to the Executive Director.
- Direct and assist staff in planning, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive
services necessary for optimal growth, development and care of the individuals.
- Maintain all residences according to standards established by all relevant regulatory
bodies.
- Monitor and remain knowledgeable of the operating budget of the Residential Services.
- In cooperation with the Director of Individual and Family Services, respond to the short and long-term maintenance needs of the residences and of the vehicles assigned to those residences.
- Arrange for 24 hour on call administrative availability in case of an emergency.
- Attend and report to the Residential Services Committee of the Board of Directors.
Other Related Responsibilities:
- Continue to stay informed and knowledgeable of the current trends related to providing services for persons with disabilities.
- Organize, review and rewrite as needed, the Residential Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Visit the participants and staff in each residence monthly.
- Maintain open communication with the participants, the families/guardians, staff,
DMR staff and any/all interested parties.
- Explore and develop plans for future residential development.
- Evaluate staff taining and enhance as needed.
- Participate on the Administrative Staff Committee.
- Attend trade organization meetings that relate to Residential Services.
Additional Qualifications:
Must be able to become and maintain DDS med certification and all other required training, must have supervisory experience, and the ability to lead and manage teams. Person in this position is required to become a trainer in offerings at the agency or an abuse and neglect investigator. Must have excellent written and oral skills and the ability to act in a professional manner.
