Location: Alpharetta, GA Required Travel: 30%

Required Education: BS/BA in Engineering or related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ Years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented. Training and Certification in tools such as Six Sigma, and PMP considered a plus

Position Overview:

As the Director of Project Management Office, you will hold a key position that is responsible for leading and directing the quality in project execution and drive change initiatives across the business to improve end-to-end processes to promote customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and defect reduction initiatives to meet Primetals quality metrics on large project execution.

Required and Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities (*identifies Essential Functions)

  • Provides strategic direction on quality in projects and drives implementation throughout the organization.
  • Develop, deploy and execute policies, objectives and plans that align and support the corporate strategic business goals.
  • Creates long-range plans for the project execution focusing on the effective development of new systems to ensure project execution.
  • Interact effectively and transparently with functional heads within Primetals (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Management, Business Development, Finance, etc.). Establishes key relationships with strategic customer partners.
  • Lead project execution support functions like project logistics, scheduling etc.
  • Responsible for supporting the bid team with freight cost calculations, developing new freight forwarders to optimize the freight cost during execution, improvement of project scheduling process.
  • Creates installation cost calculation tools for turnkey projects and support bid teams with projects installation budget calculations.
  • Identify and initiate improvements to the quality management system, ensuring compliance to all relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements. Support implementation of ISO 9000.
  • Ensure effective coordination of investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments and implementation of change control, and corrective and preventive actions to the adhered timelines as appropriate.
  • Create system for feedback loops and continuous improvement.
  • Implement solutions for corrective actions (non-conformance reports) that cover Supplier NCRs, or Field Service-Generated NCRs.
  • Drive the Project Update & Status Reporting Process
  • Provide Portfolio Level Status Reports to Management
  • Conduct Post Project Reviews and Performance Score Cards
  • Assume PM responsibility for particular projects or programs

Required Skills/Knowledge, Education and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures for area managed and good knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.

10+ years of Large industrial turnkey project execution experience

Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches (e.g. Project and Portfolio Management Methodology – PPM)

Budget, cost and profitability management skills

Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture

Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others

Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers and vendor groups
