General Purpose of Job:

The Director of Information Systems will coordinate all aspects of the Information Systems department. This position will also analyze customer input and delegate tasks to appropriate personnel. The position will ensure timely response and communication to both internal and external customers.

Metrics:

· Maintain TI Help Desk support turnaround time of 48 hours
· Maintain on time closure on client projects of 99% meeting deadlines
· Maintain all systems planned uptime of 99%
· Maintain all security risks, intrusions, viruses, etc., at less than a 1% incident rate
· Maintain profitable status in Programming & Ops/AutoRate sectors of department.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
· 80% Rock achievement per quarter or better
· Complete all items on the Director of Information Systems checklist
· Provide leadership, vision and management to the IT Department
· Work with Directors, Managers, and staff to assess and respond to company IT needs
· Hold regular department meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives, promote team building and work to provide growth paths for staff
· Supervise the ongoing operations of the TI help desk, providing quality and timely support to staff concerning hardware and software needs, handle escalated help desk issues as needed
· Provide day-to-day supervision, conduct performance appraisals, and delegate work assignments for all IT personnel
· Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training for IT staff
· Administer the department budget and expense reporting. Work with vendors directly on pricing performance
· Identify emerging information technology structures to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company infrastructure
· Ensure that TI stays current and competitive in the FAP/Logistics Industry with respect to IT infrastructure and services
· Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages in coordination with corporate leadership

· Oversee the development and changes to information security policies and oversee the formal process used to communicate these changes to users, related parties, and vendors.

· Maintain the integrity and continual operation of the TI network including the systems, web applications, servers, internal systems and external systems

· Ensure the continual functioning of mission-critical operations

· Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, networks, communication lines, and equipment

· Develop, review, revise, and certify all back-up recovery and disaster recovery plans and procedures

· Oversees the planning and management of the company’s telephone system and manages company-wide upgrade efforts

· Effectively communicates company-wide changes and relevant IT information to superiors, Directors, Managers, staff, and direct reports

· Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies

· Maintains lasting internal and external client relationships

· Reinforces team approach and practice throughout both client projects and internal initiatives

· Enforces standard company and department policies and procedures

· Perform any non-routine work necessary for the good of the department and the organization

Previous Work Experience: Normally three to five years of previous work experience is required to meet job standards.

Education or Experience: This position must possess a Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5years of IS/management experience or an Associate degree for a 2-year college or technical school with 7 to 10 years of IS/Management experience.

Language and Communication Skills: This position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. The position will respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. The Manager will write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. This position will effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills: This position will work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. The Manager will apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability: This position will possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The Manager will interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
