The School of Music seeks to fill a tenure-track, nine-month appointment to begin August 2020. The Director of Bands will conduct the ECU Wind Ensemble, administer the undergraduate and graduate wind conducting program, guide and oversee all activities and operations of the university band program. Other teaching duties may be determined by qualifications, preference and institutional needs. Appropriate university service is expected. The selected candidate will exhibit an interest in developing a comprehensive musical awareness in all students and an understanding of how to work effectively with faculty colleagues to enhance the offerings of the school. Additionally, the successful candidate will actively recruit for the school and demonstrate a commitment to music education. Finally, the candidate will successfully maintain a high level of professional visibility at the national, state and local levels and work to establish a long-term artistic vision for a collegiate band program. Minimum Qualifications:
Earned DMA or PhD in music or related field and 3 years collegiate teaching or commensurate professional experience.
