Duties and Scope:
The Director of Information Technology (IT) will:
  • Provide overall management and responsibility for Oaklawn Information Technology.
  • Ensure the implementation, maintenance and support of technical systems required for Oaklawn operations.
  • Possesses the overall responsibility to manage and direct the services of our contracted IT vendor.
  • Monitor contract compliance and evaluate the performance of contracted vendors.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. \
  • Be accountable for ensuring continuity of computer services for computer users throughout the organization through planning and project coordination with internal or external resources.
The Director is a member of Systems Committee and other committees as appropriate to fulfill job functions. This includes
  • Overseeing delivery of all IT functions to meet Oaklawn requirements
  • Support and maintenance of existing hardware, applications and development of new technical solutions.
Supervision/delegation: This position supervises the work of external partners and the employees or contractors assigned to Information Technology. The Director of Information Technology is responsible for supervising multiple functions and ensuring the effective and efficient operation and results.
Budgetary Authority: The Director of IT is responsible for drafting the annual operating budget of the Information Systems department, and overseeing the contract with our IT vendor and corporate expenditures of IT equipment necessary to support all clinical and administrative operations.

Decision Making: This position has major responsibility for making IT decisions that routinely affect the entire organization. Policies impacting the organization are established by this position with the approval of the President and Board as required.

Customer Contact/Relationships: The Director of IT fills a position that directly impacts every department of the Organization. This position must work closely with leaders and staff throughout the organization to ensure integrated information technologies that supports Oaklawn’s clinical and financial services. The Director has responsibility for contracted relationships with MapleTronics, Verizon and other vendors, or their replacements.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred
  • 5 years of experience in IT Management, preferably in a Behavioral Health setting.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical/medical/IT information. Ability to respond to routine inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with individuals and groups.
