About the Role

The Head of Business Development and Product Management NA for ADAS/AD will identify, cultivate and generate new business opportunities driving the go-to-market plan for the ADAS/AD Business Unit in the Americas region. The position will also be responsible for managing a subset of the ADAS/AD BU product portfolio globally. This role is expected to drive growth by targeted technology deployment, maximizing the potential for sales and margin by enabling attractive product roadmaps, prioritization of technology and feature development and executing on a defined go-to-market strategy and business plan.


Your Team

The position will report into the VP Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development. The responsibilities comprise all aspects of business development and product management including the fulfillment of the associated regional and product business plan targets. The position requires close interaction with customers as well as working with the Harman Customer Business Units (CBUs), Harman Marketing and ADAS/AD BU engineering teams.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the Americas Business Development activities for the ADAS/AD BU
  • Create and own the related Sales / go-to-market plan
  • Ensure that ADAS/AD BU Sales targets are met in the Americas region
  • Communicate the ADAS/AD BU’s value proposition to prospects, alliance partners and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify new business opportunities by researching profile accounts including mapping company’s organizational structure, identifying new contracts, understanding the key business drivers and competitive landscape in collaboration with the CBUs
  • Deliver a steady stream of qualified leads to meet sales goals and generate a growth pipeline
  • Lead preparation of quotations and customer presentations with a focus on profitability and commercial results against quote
  • Establish relationships with customer procurement, engineering and other relevant parts of the organization.
  • Own and develop the roadmap for a subset of the ADAS/AD product portfolio
  • Perform market and competitive analysis for managed product portfolio
  • Align with customer product management, CBU, CPM, and internal engineering teams to define the product roadmap
  • Define and drive the product business plan and own the overall success/failure of the related product strategy
  • Align product plans with partners and key suppliers including Samsung
  • Work with the CBUs and marketing to secure the revenue plan for the managed products
  • Support budget and FY planning for the ADAS/AD BU
  • Support local marketing activities
  • Support establishing relevant partnerships and industry relationships

What You Need

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Track record in business development and business growth
  • Experience in product management for new technology products
  • 5+ years of Automotive experience and related contact network
  • Experience in business planning and go-to-market strategy definition and execution
  • Strong technical and commercial capabilities
  • Product and services business background
  • Experience in managing and growing teams
  • Track record in managing multiple, complex opportunities
  • Ability to deal with all customer target groups up to the C-Suite

What Makes You Eligible

  • This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
