We have an opening for a Director of Dining Services in our small assisted living community.
Must enjoy seniors and working in a healthcare setting.
The Director of Dining Services works full time and is responsible for managing all dining services in the senior assisted living. This includes supervision of the dining staff, meal planning, inventory, food preparation and sanitation practices.
Job Requirements:
· Experience in management of employees
· Experience with management of payroll, food and labor control
· Experience with creating department schedules
· Must have ability to work independently, while maintaining a positive attitude in an environment that can be stressful and demanding.
· Experience with menu planning, food and supply ordering
· Must have a current and valid driver’s license with means to pick up or deliver food as needed.
· Experience in senior living and industrial food service.
· Must be knowledgeable of and skilled in food preparation.
· Knowledgeable of food storage including operation of common kitchen equipment.
Job Duties Include:
· Reports to the General Manager.
· Maintains stock of all necessary inventory items.
· Orients, trains, and supervises all dining services personnel.
· Protects and supports residents’ rights.
· Is familiar with all dining-related chemicals and manages them according to policies and procedures by MSDS.
· Establishes and maintains a safe, clean, and healthy environment following all state, federal, local and community policies and procedures and laws for the dining department.
· Establishes and maintains high standards of menu planning, food purchasing, and food storage.
· Designs, plans, and implements all functions of the dining services department.
· Follows budgetary guidelines and looks for ways to improve food costs without compromising on quality and service.
· Recruits, interviews, hires, evaluates, coaches, and terminates employees according to community policy.
· Maintains confidentiality of residents’ personal information (HIPPA).
· Maintains a professional appearance by dressing in required dress protocol and assures all staff are in appropriate uniforms.
