Who We Want

Associate VP, Business Development will have in-depth industry understanding, proven experience in prospecting and generating opportunities, current advisor relationships in the independent and hybrid communities and be knowledgeable of key competitors in the marketplace.

The Associate VP, Business Development will be responsible for generating leads within regions through various prospecting techniques, team production leveraging regional events, network events, the Carson Group network, and providing support to the Internal Business Development Manager and Vice Presidents of Business Development. The Associate VP, Business Development will be responsible for and held accountable to both team and individual activity and sales targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

What To Expect

Generating leads for the sales team by using various prospecting techniques with a primary focus on cold calling.

  • Responsible for supporting sales process within region from prospecting phase to conversion.
  • Identify prospects, build relationships with current Alliance Partners and add Alliance Partners.
  • Leverage Carson Institutional Alliance resources to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Follow the company’s sales process.
  • Participate in weekly sales team meeting and sales training.
  • Collaborate with Carson Group’s team to drive successful sales
  • Participate training and continuing education requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the defined region.
  • Position will travel nationally as needed

What You Need

  • Must have demonstrated track record of achieving lead generating objectives.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry.
  • Must be able to work independently and in team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must accept demand driven travel and weekend work.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience as successful External Wholesaler, Internal Wholesaler or combination of both, or equivalent in the financial services industry required.
  • FINRA series 65 licensed preferred.
  • CFP®, CFA or CIMA designated preferred.
  • Clean U-4 and U-5 history.
