Summary
The Talent Payment Manager works closely with the Director of Talent, Traffic Managers, Producers, Business Managers, Talent Payroll companies, and Account Teams on all talent related matters.
Accountabilities:
The Talent Payment Manager for McCann NY will be required to:
- Process all sessions, and residual payments for assigned accounts, for TV, Radio, Internet and other digital media.
- Track holding fee cycles and process holding fees on time to ensure commercials can air.
- Review/interpret traffic provided airing information for processing of required talent payments.
- Track usage cycles and expirations.
- Prepare talent projected and actual residual estimates based from media plans provided by Account Teams.
- Track billing against estimates and revise when necessary.
- Responsible for inputting and processing of talent payment invoices into the accounting system.
- Review and approve monthly billing for client billing.
- Negotiate renewals for standard Talent Contracts.
- Screen completed commercials to determine final cast and performer categories.
- Review invoices to ensure that payments made to the talent are correct.
- Review, evaluate, and determine all content produced to determine if it falls under the definition of a commercial or non-commercial content.
- Review storyboards and able to advise producers, creative teams on SAG/AFTRA/AFM Commercial Contract rules.
- Any other tasks assigned
Requirements
Candidates are expected to have a minimum of:
- Must be organized and have great attention to detail
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized records
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Knowledgeable and experienced in all talent and music union codes, rules, and requirements. Needed to interpret and process payments correctly.
- Seven years of experience in Talent Payment
- Outstanding negotiation skills
- Knowledge of various talent payroll systems
- Must work well under pressure
