Shop Manager

RCS Fleet Services, Inc. has an opening for a Shop Manager. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 5+ years in this role.

Responsibilities include:

– Promote a Customer Friendly environment amongst your Team.

– Work with Service Writers to schedule work for the Repair Shop.

– Supervise Diesel Mechanics.

– Be available in the shop to answer questions/assist employees as needed.

– Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems utilizing computer software.

– Inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure that quality maintenance standards are being met.

– Expected to exercise considerable independent judgment in solving unusual work problems.

– Will speak with customers to discuss mechanical issues.

– Train and uphold employees to company standards and procedures.

– Monitor labor efficiencies of Diesel Mechanics.

– Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturer’s publications.

– Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.

– Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to higher-management.

– Direct the upkeep and appearance of shop/parking lot area.

– Management of vehicle and equipment maintenance, internal customer relations, management of fleet vendors, and fleet related record keeping and document processing.

– Assist in recruiting, screening, training, and evaluation of shop employees.

– Be trusted with management information regarding company and employees

Requirements:

– High School Diploma required

– Class A CDL

– State Inspector License preferred

– Familiarity and understanding of DOT regulations for Commercial Vehicles.

– Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle systems and components.

– Professional communication skills (Verbal, Email)

– Computer literacy

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
