ABOUT THIS JOB
Nielsen Global Media is looking for a skilled professional to join as a Senior Project Manager to support our Chicago PMO office for the Global Marketing Effectiveness portfolio of projects. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the day-to-day Scrum team facilitation consisting of project leadership, technology and data science professionals in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate is a servant leader to the Scrum Team(s) they support and ensure a healthy and productive Agile environment for development by coaching and mentoring the team, removing impediments and finding continuous improvement opportunities to improve velocity and quality. This position requires strong experience as a Scrum Master and strong planning, coaching, facilitization, problem solving, presentation and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Project Management of one of the portfolio’s key programs
Facilitate Scrum Master responsibilities for upwards of 3-4 teams within the programs as needed
Proactively manage the execution state resolving issues, organizing and connecting the dots, managing the news to reduce confusion and noise, and create transparency aligning the teams and stakeholders
Drive stakeholder engagement into the Agile process from planning through to execution
Remove impediments for teams to help maintain velocity
Collaborate with internal teams and businesses to ensure client expectations are met
Coach teams and team members in adoption of Agile behaviors and best practices and influence process improvements that drive results

You want to know who’s watching what and what’s trending in the media industry, and you’re passionate about media, digital, and data. You love solving problems by facilitating team level planning, ceremonies, managing messages, and cross team dependency management. You manage relationships and expectations as well as you manage projects, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and background experience as a Scrum Master. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure——you focus, dig in, organize, collaborate, communicate and get it done.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years related experience
Previous experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master and Agile methodologies
Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Polished, organizational and presentation skills
Superior persuasive, written, and oral communication skills
Strong Google/Microsoft Office skills
Ability to facilitate teams and provide coaching and mentoring
Ability to prioritize workload – self starter
Ability to interact well within a team and foster strong working relationships built on trust
