Summary
This role will be accountable for the acquisition of goods and services for Sunseeker Resorts Port Charlotte property as well as the day to day operations of the warehouse. The Director will be leading a Purchasing team who will understand the requirements needed to run effective operations at the property while also ensuring the best value, quality, and delivery is received from the suppliers selected. This role will also be leading a Warehousing team who is accountable for running an efficient warehouse processes, ensuring quality expectations are met, and delivery in a timely and organized manner is achieved. Overall, the Director of Resort Procurement and Supply Chain must support the operations of the property and customer expectations through the seamless delivery of goods and services at the right cost, quality, and quantities.

Minimum Requirements

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Minimum Requirements:Education: High School Diploma/GED
Years of Experience: Minimum five (5) years of previous hotel/resort procurement experience.


Other Minimum Requirements

  • Overall knowledge of the various procurement disciplines for a resort setting to include but not limited to Hotel sundries & supplies, linens, Food & Beverage, Engineering & Facilities, EVS, and retail items.
  • Participated in the pre-opening and grand opening of a large hotel or resort complex.
  • Previous experience negotiating Corporate Level, multi-year vendor contracts.
  • Proven leadership experience


Preferred Requirements

  • College degree.
  • Ability to project manage under tight timelines.
  • Ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems, Coupa, Ariba, or Fourth preferred.
  • Background in food and beverage purchasing a plus; as well as purchasing experience within the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences.
  • Has leadership courage to have tough conversations or raise risks as needed.
  • Ability to perform core functions of the roles including negotiations, supplier management, warehouse management.
  • Has learning agility to grasp new concepts quickly while also developing their team to do the same.
  • Ability to analyze data to assess potential outcomes and take actions as required.
  • Knowledge of suppliers and distributors in Florida preferred.


Job Duties

  • Build and maintain trusting stakeholder relationships to understand the requirements needed to meet operational and customer expectations.
  • Develop and/or select local, regional, and national suppliers to fulfill the needs of the property.
  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers to secure a source of supply, competitive total cost of ownership, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure that the purchasing systems are maintained with specification information, pricing, and supplier records to help facilitate the purchasing process.
  • Based on demand and business needs, lead the team who places purchase orders to suppliers to request goods or services.
  • Build trusting relationships with suppliers to receive goods and services in timely manner, at the quality expected.
  • Manage team to expedite orders as needed and to take corrective action with suppliers when required.
  • Lead the receiving function within the warehouse with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and quality of product being received.
  • Ensure there are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the supply chain, including effectiveness, efficiency, and value delivered by the team.
  • Work with Inventory Control to manage proper inventory levels within the warehouse, among other areas of collaboration.
  • During preopening:
  • Lead the tracking of the lifecycle of the orders against budget, including requirements, supplier selection, master data input, ordering, receiving and share with stakeholders.
  • Ensure that product received is organized appropriately for easy install, like batching OS&E items by outlet.
  • Select, onboard, and train team per the onboarding schedule.
  • Develop pre-opening KPIs to identify and resolve risks proactively.
  • Develop team by coaching, training, and providing feedback on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
