PROJECT MANAGER, INNOVATIVE MOBILITY

CALSTART is seeking a highly-motivated Project Manager to play a key role in supporting the organization’s new Innovative Mobility program which aims to increase zero-emission mobility options for all.

The position will initially focus on managing a pioneering grantmaking program that CALSTART administers under California Air Resources Board, the Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot Program. The position will also include responsibilities to lead the development of and operations of additional innovative projects outside California.

This role will be responsible to manage working groups, develop/implement strategies to work with disadvantaged communities, conduct policy/market analysis, and drive new industry relationships.

The candidate must be visionary, enterprising, and independent. She/he should have strong skills to form and facilitate collaborative initiatives that involve industry technology providers, public transportation agencies, advocacy organizations, and policymakers.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in partnership development surrounding bike/scooter share, microtransit, carsharing, ride on-demand, and/or innovative mobility products (e.g. e-bikes, light electric vehicles, automated vehicles).

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 6 or more years of related transportation experience with 3 or more years of experience in project development in a field related to innovative mobility
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to plan and execute effectively
  • Experience with handling large and complex projects that require attention to detail
  • Visionary, enterprising, and independent
  • Strong facilitation skills with an ability to develop/manage multiple series of events and workshops
  • Ability to travel

  • Demonstrated passion for clean transportation technologies
  • Highly effective working in a fast-paced, team environment and can successfully manage partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Management of projects that have financial and/or web components that are critical to success.
  • Experience with equity programs and disadvantaged community engagement in California
  • Experience with working groups or coalitions
  • Fluent in Spanish
