Duties and Responsibilities: -Serve as Project Manager and Task Manager: project management and leading and delivering work tasks for multimodal transportation planning and civil projects including: data collection, research, and documentation contributing to the development of statewide, regional, and local projects -Oversee and perform complex assignments or projects and review work of staff -Lead development, strategy, and writing of proposals -Lead a variety of planning and engineering studies related to multimodal transportation including: feasibility studies, planning reports, policy documentation and research, conceptual design, and other analysesFunction entrepreneurially within the Portland metro area, the Northwest, and with leadership to develop and implement effective pursuit strategies and foster client relationships -Analyze project task needs and, if needed, recommend changes and enhancements -Prepare and give briefings and presentations -Coordinate with other disciplines -Manage time and effort effectively on multiple projects -Represent the firm at external events
- Degree in Communications, Planning, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field
- Ten+ (10+) years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and tasks
- Knowledge of planning and design principles and practices with an emphasis on transportation
- Experience in preparing planning or civil engineering studies, technical reports and/or documents in compliance with federal, state, regional, and local requirements
- Interest in mentoring and managing junior staff
- Good organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to direct team members to develop reader-friendly graphics, presentations, and proposals
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; working knowledge of ArcGIS, Illustrator or InDesign
