Join us and become Project Development Director in the US Project Development team where you’ll be responsible for developing and maturing projects by securing offtake/customer agreements, land rights, grid connections, and permits. You’ll manage a highly qualified project development team and will be deeply engaged in stakeholder outreach in order to ensure support for the project from a large variety of stakeholders.
US Project Development is responsible for maturing projects to the point at which the company can make a final investment decision. This requires, at a minimum, obtaining the required revenue/customer agreements, permits, real estate/site control, and interconnection agreements.
Your key tasks will be to
- secure and manage offtake/customer agreements
- manage and maximize the project business cases
- manage a multidisciplinary team to ensure that survey work is completed and necessary permits, real estate, and grid interconnection agreements are secured
- work collaboratively with the Ørsted market and construction teams and with partners and key stakeholders to realize key project deliverables and milestones
- develop and manage project schedule(s) and ensure that development milestones are met.
Your competences include that you
- have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree within a relevant field, e.g. business, engineering, or other related disciplines
- have experience with developing energy, real estate, or infrastructure projects either as business developer, market developer, or project developer
- have experience with leading teams in the pursuit of excellent results in a highly competitive industry
- employ a problem-solving and results-driven approach
- have experience working proactively with stakeholders and are a trustworthy and impactful communicator.
Additionally, you’re expected to be willing and capable of working as part of a team with a diverse background, you thrive in an international environment, you can create good relationships with stakeholders, and you have a high level of integrity. Furthermore, you’re expected to deliver excellent results in a rapidly changing environment, and you master the Microsoft Office suite.
The ideal candidate is not only a good project manager, but more importantly a good leader. A person with the will to win – by taking responsibility and delivering on all the expected tasks, while motivating the team to ensure that they deliver. Experience with the development of energy projects and/or offshore projects in the United States is preferred.
