Manages and continuously monitors social responsibility initiatives throughout the company. Ensures thorough communication is established and maintained at all levels and with all stakeholders as it pertains to setting and meeting all corporate social responsibility objectives and goals. Assists in the enhancement and maintenance of the internal communication strategy for all CSR and CSR areas of focus and assists in the creation of the CSR Annual Report.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and administers social responsibility programs at Walgreens as directed by the WBA CSR strategy. Provides subject matter expertise to support the long-term strategy and goals for organization âwide CSR efforts. Works with the Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility to incorporate CSR throughout the organization and within business objectives, and to external marketplace stakeholders.
- Creates connections between the business agenda and reputational and societal issues by initiating and maintaining external relationships with subject matter experts, and attending professional development training and conferences. Understands business needs in order to connect external contacts with internal subject matter experts to advance initiatives.
- Manages and represents CSR in cross-functional working groups to provide expertise and support for external and internal partnership opportunities. Oversees implementation of programs and processes that support CSR goals consistent with business objectives, and aligns employees and functions towards pursuit of the CSR goals.
- Partners with various departments, business owners and function experts in the preparation, verification and drafting of the CSR Annual Report. Leads discussions with CSR Report team to monitor deadlines. Evaluates content of the report for components that require verification, and secure verification and documentation.
- Ensures CSR metrics are collected and reported appropriately. Evaluates CSR reporting indexes and best in class reports for benchmarking purposes and continuous improvement in reporting. Creates recommendations for enhancement to current CSR reporting practices and assists with implementation.
- Oversees the CSR Champions Network, a group of internal leaders focused on ensuring that CSR is implemented effectively and as intended. Hosts monthly meetings, which include establishing agendas and meeting materials, meeting minutes and cascading materials. Facilitates monthly meetings and provides follow-up. Coordinates annual in-person meeting.
- Assists with the oversight and administration of the Walgreens CSR Governance Committee. Advances program work through the Committee by coordinating functional experts across the company. Assists with ensuring that all objectives and goals are on track and manages escalation process.
- Represents company and the CSR strategy at relevant public functions related to charitable or community-based activities.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorâs Degree and at least 2 years of experience in operations, integrity, sustainability, retail management OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in operations, integrity, sustainability or retail management.
- Maintains knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues.
- Experience operating across more than one division.
- Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
- Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
- Willing to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
- At least 1 year of experience of indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorâs Degree and at least 4 years of experience in operations, integrity, sustainability, retail management OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in operations, integrity, sustainability, retail management.
- Experience in retail or dynamic corporate organization.
- Knowledge of and passion for sustainability and corporate responsibility issues.
- Experience interacting with local governments.
- Experience with CSR principles and working to expand impact on business operations.
