Position Snapshot
IT Project Managers at US Ecology are responsible for managing and overseeing multiple projects for the company, each with varying priority, schedules, and resource requirements. Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing and outside vendors, and contractual deliverables while balancing projects and communicating priorities to sponsors and stakeholders.
Day in the Life
After grabbing your favorite morning beverage, you can expect to:
- Partner with departments to ensure project objectives align with company goals and keep teams clear on objectives, scope and schedule
- Create schedules and project plans based on the project goals, resources needed, potential risks, time, and budget constraints
- Identify dependencies and possible issues across teams by partnering with colleagues to analyze and assess potential impacts
- Track and report on project deadlines, current status, deliverables, resources, and timelines.
- Ensure documentation, supporting materials, and project plans are updated and readily available for internal teams and senior leaders
- Compile project information to assess the project delivery, completeness, and alignment with stated objectives and goals
- Identify areas needing improvement, recommend and implement solutions.
- Identify needed project management training and facilitate or recommend a training solution
- Maintains electronic historical information on projects for reference for future projects, in one place and accessible to team members and senior leaders.
- Assist managers in developing budgets and reports as it relates project management
What you need to apply
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management or a related field and minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- PMP certification required
- ITIL, ITSM certifications preferred, but not required
- Advanced knowledge of best practice project delivery methods; Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.
- Proficient using project management software tools
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, drug screening
