The Smeal College of Business is seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager to facilitate the identification, development, planning, implementation and monitoring of strategic initiatives. The Project Manager will provide project management leadership for a broad range of projects and initiatives that support the strategic goals of Smeal and the University. This role will work with Smeal leadership, departmental staff, Information Technology (IT) staff, as well as other University units to understand detailed project requirements, establish success metrics, assess and address risks, develop timelines, assist in the development and implementation of communication and change management plans, monitor progress, and report status to key stakeholders. This position will also examine current processes, design new process flow where needed and create evaluation systems to track improvements. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. Project Management Certification and familiarity with Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies is required. Experience and comfort with technology and translating business requirements into specialized requirements is essential. You will need to possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships with stakeholders, be adaptable to change, exercise judgment and discretion, meet deadlines and shift from working independently to working within a team easily. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
