Your contribution at AIG

As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.

This position will report to the Managing Director, Operational Risk Management – Life & Retirement.

Position summary

As the VP Operations – Head of Process and Control Engineering Team you be responsible for the following.

Process Related:

• Process mapping
• LEAN Processing Reengineering utilizing LEAN type tools and thinking to risk/control evaluations
• Project management
• Must be well organized

Risk Management:

• Understand basic risk management tools (e.g., inherent risk, residual risk)
• Perform gap analysis
• Perform “root cause reviews”
• Review remediation plans for effectiveness and long term sustainability

Business and Operations:

• Some basic business and operations

Leadership:

• Drive change through others
• Drive engagement and collaboration
• Drive alignment, especially on projects that span multiple businesses
• Must be a self-starter

Team Leader:

• Effective coaching
• Problem solving
• Drive accountability
• Lead by example
• Manage up and down effectively

What we are looking for:

• 8+ years of experience (financial services preferred) with extensive experience in LEAN concepts
• Strong experience with operations and/or operational risk management preferred
• BA or BS degree preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
