Your contribution at AIG
As a Leader, you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
This position will report to the Managing Director, Operational Risk Management – Life & Retirement.
Position summary
As the VP Operations – Head of Process and Control Engineering Team you be responsible for the following.
Process Related:
- Process mapping
- LEAN Processing Reengineering utilizing LEAN type tools and thinking to risk/control evaluations
- Project management
- Must be well organized
Risk Management:
- Understand basic risk management tools (e.g., inherent risk, residual risk)
- Perform gap analysis
- Perform “root cause reviews”
- Review remediation plans for effectiveness and long term sustainability
Business and Operations:
- Some basic business and operations
Leadership:
- Drive change through others
- Drive engagement and collaboration
- Drive alignment, especially on projects that span multiple businesses
- Must be a self-starter
Team Leader:
- Effective coaching
- Problem solving
- Drive accountability
- Lead by example
- Manage up and down effectively
What we are looking for:
- 8+ years of experience (financial services preferred) with extensive experience in LEAN concepts
- Strong experience with operations and/or operational risk management preferred
- BA or BS degree preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
