GRAPHICS MANAGER – Jacksonville, FL.
Opportunity: The purpose of the Graphics Manager role is to serve as a team leader for Graphic Specialist support staff charged with creation and prepress preparation of artwork to facilitate the production and use of photopolymer printing plates for large format flexographic printing.
How you will impact WestRock:
Leverage Expert Level skill set to Lead, manage, coach and direct prepress graphic support staff
Use Expert level skill set in Prepress and Adobe Illustrator to development key processes and procedures.
Evaluates and verifies employee performance
Ensure staffing needs / requirements are met
Prioritize and organize daily workload
Establish goals, track results
Interacts daily with Customer Service Reps, Graphic Specialists, Quality Coordinators and Management
Expert level understanding of graphic requirements through the use of Customer / Press Specification Library.
Perform audits of work instruction procedures
Collaborate with Team members and Management to develop creative corrective actions / solutions to customer issues or gaps in process to improve quality, lower cost and accelerate speed to market
Prepare and submit reports as required.
Assure that on a daily basis all company standards and Customer Commitments are met
Work Safely at all times
Perform other duties as assigned and assist anywhere needed
What you need to succeed:
v Degree or Diploma or Certificate in Package / Graphic Design highly preferred;
Packaging or production industry experience
v Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office and Mac Experience Required
v 10+ years of experience with Flexographic Printing and Plates Required
v Expert Knowledge of prepress capabilities and processes
v Experience in management / print industry preferred.
v Experience in pre-flighting of graphic files for plate production.
v Experience at working with converting sites.
v Strong written & oral communication skills (experience necessary)
v Problem solving and analytical skills
v Excellent time management skills – ability to be proactive and acknowledge priority
v Knowledge of production capabilities and other department operations
v Ability to resolve conflicts and develop teamwork
v Ability to work independently… Self-Starter
