The General Manager is responsible for overall management and performance of the distribution facility, developing and fostering an environment that supports our core values – S afety, winning with the best P eople, I ntegrity, embracing C hange and collaborating to achieve E xceptional Results. This includes applying leadership skills and principles to engage the division team (warehouse,transportation, procurement, sales and customer service), put safety first in everything we do, hold the team accountable to achieve operational and financial goals, and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.

Required Skills and Experience:
College degree or equivalent experience.

8+ years experience in a key management role with a proven record of leading operational teams.

Strong communication skills, including verbal, listening and written and computer programs knowledge.

Must be able to develop and lead highly productive teams with a focus on individual accountability.

In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices.

Must be decisive, with the objective of balancing tactical and strategic issues.

Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong client relationships.

This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Foodservice distribution experience highly preferred.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Develop and direct all staff to obtain optimum use of team members, facility, equipment and technology.

Oversee all distribution activities including receiving, storing, shipping and handling of goods, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.

Prepare an annual budget, manage P&L and use sound financial decision-making to achieve financial goals.

Prioritize and adjust strategic plans and initiatives in response to organizational, regulatory, or market driven imperatives.

Review and evaluate performance of operation functions, address performance gaps, and take corrective action, as needed to ensure each functional area are delivering on operating goals

Drive performance to meet customer expectations, maintain open communications and be responsive to customer’s requirements and expectations

Regular interaction with customers at customer events, meetings and other functions.

Provide strong leadership to employees by fostering an environment of trust and open communication and developing talent for the future of the organization.

Ensure compliance with company, state, federal and local policies, regulations, and safety/health and sanitation standards.

Other projects or duties as assigned.
