The Research & Development team at DTN currently has a Director of Quality Assurance opening for an individual who thrives in a highly technical software development environment and is a constant champion of best practices for QA.
Quality is something built into the very fabric of the software process and not something that starts when coding is complete.
Reporting to the Vice President of Research & Development, the Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for the overall software quality program for a global SaaS business. This includes establishing and maintaining the QA strategy, processes, platforms, and resources needed to deliver 24×7 operationally critical solutions for many of the world largest companies.
This leader will sit on the R&D leadership team and interface daily with business leaders, product leaders, and development leaders in addition to his/her own teams. The ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, maintain strong relationships, and communicate clearly at multiple levels is key to this role.
As part of the team you will:
- Lead a team of highly disciplined quality assurance professionals in multiple locations
- Provide oversight and direction for the QA strategy, process, and platforms
• Establish a single and repeatable QA practice and technology framework for all of DTN • Provide a measurable assessment of QA completeness throughout the development process
- Ensure that appropriate levels of learning and training occur within the QA team to sustain a state of the art QA practice
- Collaborate with product management and development management to create predictable and cost effective software development plans
- Streamline QA practices to allow for effective use of both internal and external QA resources to support scale
Your background and experience includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business-related studies
- 7+ years’ experience leading Quality Assurance functions and distributed QA teams
- Demonstrable experience with various project management methodologies, including Agile methodologies and supporting techniques
- Experience deploying and managing cloud based software quality automation tools
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality enterprise SaaS applications on time
- Focus on continuous improvement and measurable outcomes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative programming environment
- Colleague focused, teamwork driven, and a passion for customer delight
