    Director of Production and Manufacturing (DPM)

    SpeedPro is a wide-format B2B digital printing studio. We produce and install retail/brand graphics, tradeshow displays, event signage, wall murals, vehicle graphics, and environmental signage.

    We are looking for individuals who can create order from chaos – individuals who enjoy streamlining processes for efficiency and who revel at becoming a master at their craft. SpeedPro desires a leader who can motivate, teach, and improve the performance of peer and subordinate associates. The DPM should be a self-starter. This is not an entry level position.

    As a DPM your core function will be to balance workflow priorities with maximizing equipment and personnel resources. You will also be expected to become the expert technician for sophisticated printing and finishing.

    Responsible for:

    • Maintain close communication with front office regarding product requirements and timelines
    • Manage all associates supporting production and manufacturing
    • Produce signage by deadline (or before)
    • Ensure finished products are at an acceptable quality
    • Coordinate job completion with front office and/or project managers
    • Document inventory of parts, products and other consumables
    • Request inventory supplies in advance of need from procurement
    • Finishing methods on produced graphics and signage (mounting, laminating and cutting)
    • Develop new methods for improved production/manufacturing efficiency
    • Maintain working knowledge of industry developments in equipment technology
    • Maintain and actively ascertain product knowledge
    • Make recommendations to management regarding printing equipment replacement
    • Operation and maintenance of large format printers and plotter
    • Operation and maintenance of advanced CNC machine
    • Maintain a clean and organized production area
    • Tools well kept, organized and in their proper place
    • Floor clean
    • Trash emptied
    • Desk areas organized and clean

    Skills required:

    • Self-directed and driven
    • Experience in large format print production and/or manufacturing
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with capacity for multi-tasking
    • Detail oriented, accountable and have a strong work ethic
    • Take criticism constructively
    • Able to consult and communicate with clients as needed
    • Able to lift up to 75lbs

    Ideal candidates will also possess:

    • Experience with large format printers, laminator and plotters
    • Experience with graphic and signage finishing
    • Experience with advanced CNC machines and/or specialized tools
    • Experience in manufacturing process design
    • Experience managing subordinates
