The Director of Enterprise Applications leads the IT functions responsible for strategy, design, build, delivery, integrations and operations of enterprise applications such as those that support Finance, People & Culture, and other business functions. The role is responsible for providing high quality operations and responsive support. This strategic leader will be responsible for ensuring that the application systems support enhanced productivity for the respective internal teams. This will require maintaining strong relationships with the business, other IT groups and third-party vendors with a focus on collaboration and direct communications. This role will be responsible for aligning business applications to Cielo’s business priorities by providing functional capabilities and technology innovations. As a member of the IT Leadership Team, this position is expected to assist in defining and driving strategy across the IT Department to optimize processes and provide the highest levels of customer service to the business.
Responsibilities
- Manage application roadmaps using life-cycle management best practices, from initial assessment through decommission, ensuring the business and technical fitness of the application portfolio is delivered in a way that drives efficiency and value for the business.
- Establish best practices for enterprise application management, configuration changes, and application security and provide guidance and solutions where business requirements misalign with systems operations and functionality.
- Implement a framework to measure performance and provide visibility of the value of systems across the organization (metrics & KPIs).
- Provide leadership, vision and guidance to the Enterprise Applications organization, developing their skills and capabilities through training and development to meet the needs of the business by fully leveraging investments in existing technologies, as well as identifying emerging technologies.
- Recruit, motivate, engage and retain a highly competent and productive team. Create a working environment where operational excellence, craftsmanship, innovation and personal growth are encouraged and realized.
- Provide leadership as a member of the IT Leadership Team to develop the overall IT strategy that ensures the needs and priorities of the business are addressed and drive value for the business.
- Participate in the IT governance process to gain consensus on portfolio and project prioritization and successful delivery of programs/projects for delivering value-added technology capabilities across the business, with measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrate business understanding by leading business process optimization initiatives to drive common processes and efficiencies across the organization.
- Develop effective business relationships by understanding business processes and business goals to identify current and future system requirements and to ensure project and support priorities are aligned, review business process and/or technical designs to validate appropriate use of technology, and ensure systems enhance business processes, operations, and information process flow and proactively understand changing business needs.
- Manage application vendors and support consultants to ensure high quality service delivery and negotiate with key vendors/consulting partners to ensure efficient delivery of services in support of objectives and appropriate protections are included and costs optimized.
- Manage projects, deliverables, and technology operations throughout the application lifecycle using a strong fiduciary approach.
- Evaluate and recommend corporate information systems technology solutions while remaining abreast of trends and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of IT and/or business-related systems experience.
- Minimum of three years of management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a complex portfolio of business applications and experience and supporting business change utilizing application functionalities.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing strategic relationships with technology vendors, consulting partners, and internal business partners.
- Experience managing, hiring, mentoring, and training teams.
- Experience in developing project plans and individual work plans to complete configuration and business process.
- Budget planning and financial management. Service delivery through definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses KPIs and other metrics to measure service quality.
