SUMMARY
The Director, Enterprise Strategic Portfolio Management is responsible for championing and aligning strategic priorities within the organization. This will be achieved through creating and implementing an enterprise project portfolio governance framework enabling more efficient operations across BECU. This position is responsible for building and executing on enterprise capacity management processes, driving allocation of resources and planning efficiency. Oversee the achievement of the enterprise strategic priorities vision through implementing checkpoint approvals on all programs and projects identifying issues, risk and investment impacts. This position will have oversight of the Strategic Management Committee.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with the BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
- Facilitate the execution of a multi-year strategic plan within the enterprise Project Portfolio, including road maps and priority discussions, resource demand and capacity, aligning with BECUâs strategic goals and program/project objectives.
- Direct a multi-year project portfolio, including business and IT initiatives, assuming responsibility for gated process, project delivery methodologies, governance, and budget and forecasting with transparent dashboards and reports.
- Provide input for continuous improvement of the PMO processes and artifacts to further strengthen the organizations delivery of business value.
- Maintain authority and oversight of the portfolio (all projects) to facilitate prioritization/ decisions, sequencing, thorough scope management, ensure business and IT resource alignment.
- Proactively challenge Project Managers and resource leaders on initiatives to maximize the utilization of resources.
- Responsible for the Strategic Management Committee, including strategic initiative prioritization, oversight and allocation of project funding, risk tolerance oversight, risk remediation, and overall excellence in execution.
- Lead analysis of portfolio scenarios and resource forecasts, demand, and capacity to drive decisions regarding the allocation of resources in accordance to the priorities of the overall portfolio.
- Oversee administration and optimization of enterprise-wide portfolio management and capacity measurement/utilization tool.
- Develop strong working relationships with executive leaders, business partners, and stakeholders in order to achieve results and enact wide-scale impact across the enterprise.
- Lead effort for enterprise-wide strategic gap assessments to inform a Strategic Roadmap, enabling a well-informed prioritization process, effective resource alignment and continuous improvement.
- Influence decisions at the leadership or senior leadership/Executive levels
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelorâs degree or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience in direct team leadership required.
- Minimum 8 years of functional experience in corporate strategy and enterprise portfolio management and resource planning required .
- Experience with administration or oversight of enterprise project portfolio management systems and use of reporting tools, such as Tableau preferred.
- Expertise in enterprise capacity management/resource alignment tools such as Clarizen preferred.
- Experience in data analytics; specifically, in compiling data and building reports/dashboards.
- Project management certifications (PMP, ACP, PgMP, PfMP) and relevant education from organizations such as the Project Management Institute or universities, preferred.
- Ability to lead preparation of and conduct Executive-level presentations
- Strategic, big-picture thinker with strong business acumen and high degree of creativity in identifying opportunities.
- Ability to work directly with and influence senior leaders in the organization, including Executive Leadership
- Excellent communication, writing and planning skills with familiarity of project management fundamentals.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, issue and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to deliver consistently under deadlines and execute with minimal direction
- Excellent conceptual, organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to keep up with developments in the information and financial services industries, as well as strategic evolution capabilities.
- Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
- Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
