The Vice President of Sales & Marketing serves as an integral member of the leadership team. In this role they will be responsible for the development and implementation of 2J Supply’s sales and marketing strategies ensuring accountability for results that will meet or exceed 2J Supply’s strategic growth objectives and initiatives. They will lead, manage and mentor a team of territory managers and marketing professionals with the objective to increase sales revenue with a focus on market penetration. This role is charged with achieving defined sales goals, negotiations, coaching and mentoring, budgeting and forecasting, and setting strategic direction for sales and marketing. The will develop and oversee the implementation of strategic marketing programs and tools that are instrumental in driving growth and profitability for the company and have ownership of the processes ensuring consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues through proactive planning and deployment.
Essential Functions
- Provide strategic sales, marketing, and business development leadership to the sales and marketing teams.
- Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to improve market share for all product lines.
- Develop, implement, manage and achieve strategic annual sales and marketing plan/forecast. Ensure the plan is properly communicated and work with cross-functional teams to achieve success
- Develop, implement, coach and manage an efficient sales process to ensure Territory Managers are best in class and properly trained to close sales and identify new business opportunities
- Participate as a member of the company Leadership Team helping to set annual organizational goals and outline strategies to grow sales, improve customer service, and improve top line and gross margin goals.
- Develop, manage and achieve annual sales and marketing plan/forecast and drive sales growth through effective weekly pipeline management. Ensure the plan is properly communicated and work with cross-functional teams to achieve success
- Develop annual sales plans to achieve maximum sales volume and profitability and maintaining business and relationships to meet or exceed sales revenue goals and help define the company’s overall strategies and tactics for new market growth opportunities.
- Utilize, monitor, manage and maintain a comprehensive Customer Resource Management “CRM” system providing sales and marketing support.
- Drive results in collaboration with marketing team members in the areas of promotions, website, events, customer experience, media placement and corporate branding all aimed at achieving company objectives and sales and marketing goals.
- Review existing product lines to determine their go forward target market strategy
- Perform quarterly reviews with key accounts and achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly & yearly sales goals.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of client satisfaction and provide managerial oversight of accounts. Establish and monitor KPI’s for client success.
- Regularly review the profitability of existing and potential business opportunities. Provide appropriate reports to leadership team.
- Develop and manage marketing strategy, promotions and special projects ensuring marketing functions are optimized
- Monitor/identifying industry trends, secure competitive intelligence & market conditions relative to specific service offering(s) and taking to fruition successful business opportunities
- Proficient in computer software ERP applications and MS Office Suite.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related area.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive sales and marketing experience with at least 5 years of successfully managing a sales and marketing team at a senior level
- Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing a successful marketing and sales strategy.
- Industry experience not required, distributor experience preferred
- Must have proven record of exceptional customer relationship development and maintenance, growing sales volume and profitability
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills while communicating with all levels of the organization
- 60% travel. Occasionally travel may require an overnight stay
