We are currently seeking a motivated forward thinking leader with the ability to manage the finance function of the credit union to ensure financial reporting controls are sound and operations are reported correctly.
As the Vice President of Finance, you will ultimately be responsible for providing assistance to the CFO in managing various Accounting and Finance functions. In order to do so, you will be expected to assemble and maintain statistical data; track and report interest rate exposures given different interest rate environments; process in-house modeling programs using ProfitStar; and develop and carry out balance sheet and investment strategies that support the short and long-term objectives of the Credit Union.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
AMOCO’s Vice President of Finance will be responsible for a number of management and process functions including but not limited to:
- Oversee processing of monthly data files to our in-house modeling program for IRR management
- Review rates of competition, markets, and alternative investments and funding sources
- Perform assigned responsibilities in compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements
- Develop proactive short and long-term investment goals and objectives
- Evaluate interest rate risk exposure and sensitivity, and develop alternative strategies in compliance with ALM policy. Perform investment simulation analysis. Develop the monitoring process and analytical tools to ensure successful implementation of ALM strategies. Coordinate implementation of ALM strategies throughout the Credit Union
- Conduct local and national financial research and analysis. Project and evaluate the impact of economic changes on the Credit Union’s business plan. Maintain current data on interest rate forecasts and economic projections.
- Monitor interest margins and pursue strategies to improve them
- Help ensure that non-earning cash assets and deposit balances are minimized
- Assist in the pricing of loan and share products
- Assist in the development of annual budget
- Oversee completion and present ALCO Report to management
- Oversee completion of quarterly call report
- Assist in profitability analysis of products and services
- Oversee CECL implementation and ALLL process
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial institution required
- Minimum 1 to 2 years managing a fixed income investment portfolio required
- Minimum 1 to 2 years supervising employees required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of credit union and/or financial institution operations, including account practices and procedures
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision, exercising one’s own initiative and judgment, effectively prioritizing tasks to use time efficiently
- Business acumen and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff to accomplish Credit Union goals.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff, members, and community in a professional, approachable, and positive manner both inside and outside of the branch.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, supervise, and exercise effective leadership qualities, perform accountability practices, meet and exceed sales goals, and think creatively.
· Use feedback and display dedication for continuous improvement to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external members
- Must possess a high degree of confidentiality and ethical standards, strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify problems/issues, develop and evaluate options in order to implement solutions.
- Ability to perform complex math including weighted averages and other essential formulas used for analysis
- Observance of all Credit Union policies and regulations. Attend seminars as necessary and participate in continued education and/or training as directed by senior management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Develop and carry out strategies related to Accounts Payable
- Monitor and evaluate Accounts Payable processes
- Develop and carry out strategies related to Payment Systems, which includes card services, ACH, wires, share drafts, and other payment services
- Monitor and evaluate Payment Systems processes
- Management of day-to-day and long-term liquidity functions
